Hello, I believe my computer got infected with BTCWare Master ransomware! All of my files have .master file extensions. The filenames also have an email address added to them – teroda@bigmir.net. The criminals suggest writing to them in order to recover my files, but I wanted to ask whether there is a way to recover files for free?

Unfortunately, we have some bad news to you. There were many variants of BTCware ransomware, and almost all of them turned out to be decryptable; unfortunately, the BTCWare Master ransomware virus is a slightly improved version, and cyber security experts couldn't find an antidote for it. There is a decryption tool for earlier versions of BTCWare, but we do not suggest trying it on .master file extension files because it simply won't work. Therefore, we suggest you restore some of your files using data backups and other measures described in this post: BTCWare ransomware virus. How to remove? (Uninstall Guide).
