I have installed Hotspot Shield Toolbar on my PC and Chrome’s homepage was set to search.conduit.com. I am not interested in using this search engine, and I want to switch back to Google. I tried everything. Is program uninstallation the only way to do it?

Installation of Hotspot Shield Toolbar usually leads to altered browser’s settings. Most of the time only program removal helps to solve this problem. In the EULA there may have been written that by installing this software you agree to set search.conduit.com as your default search engine. That’s why you cannot set your preferred search engine.
