My Chrome’s homepage has been altered. I started looking for the problem and found SafeSearch Incognito browser extension. I swear I haven’t installed it. I think that some virus affected my browser because I cannot simply remove it! It comes back every time I restart the computer. Why is this happening?

SafeSearch Incognito browser extension is not a virus. It’s a potentially unwanted program (PUP) known as a browser hijacker. It might seem that the hijacker appeared out of nowhere; however, it’s not quite true. This application may have been installed together with a recently downloaded program.
This extension spreads packed with various free programs, so, if you used “Quick" or “Recommended” settings, you might have given permission to install the full software package.
The reason why the so-called SafeSearch virus appears on your browser again and again is that it might have affected browser’s shortcuts or even Windows registry. What is more, it may have installed “helper objects” that protects it. To get rid of all these entries, you have to follow removal instructions or speed up the elimination by scanning the system with security software.
Sincerely,
2-spyware team.
