I suppose my PC has been infected with Tilde virus, because I see “.~” extension instead of my regular file extensions now. I wonder how can I get rid of it? Should I remove Tilde first? Thank you

To remove the unusual extension from your files, you will have to remove Tilde virus from your computer itself. You can do that using FortectIntego or other reputable antivirus utilities. However, do not be surprised if you still see the extension next to your files even after you delete the virus from your computer. The files will still remain decrypted because there is no recovery tool created for this virus just yet. Of course, you can try recovering some of the data using PhotoRec, R-Studio or Kaspersky virus-fighting utilities. We do not promise miracles though. We hope that you will be able to save at least some of your files from the fraudulent Tilde ransomware.
