So my files has been encrypted, at least a suspicious txt file on my desktop says so. For some reason it demands 100 euros transferred to a Bitcoin address. What has happened and why my files have .xcrypt file extensions now? What is Xcrypt?

XCrypt is a malicious Trojan that belongs to ransomware category. If it encrypts files, they become useless, because the virus modifies them on a structural level. As you can see, it added certain file extensions to help you recognize which files were encrypted and which ones were not. To restore them to their initial state, the victim needs to have a unique decryption key, which is stored in criminals' remote host. There is no way to obtain this key, and this is why criminals demand a ransom. They promise to send this key to you if you pay the ransom. Please do not believe what criminals say and do not pay up.
