So I have just accidentally infected my computer with some ridiculous merrychristmas ransomware, guys. It replaced by desktop wallpaper with a huge christmas-themed picture. It wants me to write to comodosec@yandex.ru for help. What am I supposed to do??

MerryChristmas virus is a serious ransomware infection, and sadly, it is not some Christmas-themed joke. This malicious program is meant to extort money from victims, so it takes victim's files hostage. We highly recommend you not to pay the ransom - the chances of getting your files back are low, anyways. Do you have any backups? You can use them to restore at least part of all encrypted data.
