My browser repetitiously launches “by CounterFlix” ads even if the AdBlocker is on. What causes these ads to appear? I’ve run several scans with some free anti-malware programs but nothing seems to work. After running the scan, this piece of malware goes away for a while, but I believe it comes back as soon as I restart my computer. Is there a way to solve this problem? Why can’t security programs remove CounterFlix virus efficiently?

CounterFlix is an extremely aggravating spyware-type program that is very hard to remove; it is ever-evolving because its developers do not want victims to get rid of it shortly after its installation. Unfortunately, the activity of this pesky program asks to take actions and get rid of it as soon as possible. It slows down the system, it displays dozens of annoying ads and worsens the performance of the compromised computer. After completing these instructions, DO NOT forget to reset your router and change router's password into a strong one (use lower and upper case letters, digits, and if possible, symbols).
If everything else fails, you can kill the annoying infection using anti-malware software, for instance, FortectIntego.
