I have quite an issue there. i have recently installed Snail Translator ‘cuz it looked like a cool app that I should try. however, soon enough i have noticed that it was infectious… I keep getting suspicious Windows Activation pop-ups that urge me to call some suspicious number. That doesn’t seem professional to me… I have never heard that microsoft support would ask to call them to activate windows? It seems shady, and that’s why i think that Snail Translator was malicious. Am I right?

You are right - Snail Translator is a malicious program. Although it belongs to adware category, it is a program that can cause you many serious computer security related problems. Snail Translator adware advertises fake tech support number by showing fake Windows Activation screens. You should NOT call that number! Please read this article to find out what is the aim of tech support scammers: Snail Translator virus. How to Remove? (Uninstall Guide)
Although you can try to remove this potentially unwanted program manually, we do not recommend you to do so. You can clean your computer from Snail Translator malware and files related to it using an anti-malware program. We recommend using FortectIntego for that.
