Help. I am extremely disappointed. I have heard about ransomware viruses before, but now I have become a victim myself. I accidentally opened an email attachment that held PowerWare virus executable. Now my files are encrypted and I don’t know whether should I pay the money criminals ask or not. Please help me decide…. I really need my personal data!

1. By paying the ransom, you would support frauds. This will encourage them to continue their fraudulent activities, create new tricks and techniques how to deceive people and affect more computer users.
2. It is unlikely that cybercriminals are going to give you the decryption key even if you pay up; consider the possibility of the second deception. Frauds might just steal your money and forget about you.

Yes, at the moment there is no decryption tool available that would be capable of decrypting records affected by PowerWare. We suggest you to wait; computer experts always look for methods to help people, and they work hard to create decryption tools. It is hard to sort out what is the decryption key as the encryption algorithm used to encrypt files is very complicated. Meanwhile, you can try one of these tools - Photorecor R-studio.
