I tired to follow your directions to remove “Wiseconvert Toolbar” but it just returns me to the screen that completes installing it. I am currently using firefox 16.0.2 because my mac operating system does not support a newer version.
I ran a scan with my antivirus and it did not detect the toolbar.
I am grateful for any help you can provide!

Sorry for a delayed answer, by the way..
Firstly, we must say that our WiseConvert Toolbar's removal guide includes the steps given by WiseConvert's representatives. However, it seems that they try to force their users use this toolbar in all sorts of ways.
However, try following these steps:
1. Uninstall WiseConvert Toolbar from the Programs List
2. Remove WiseConvert Add-on/extention: In Mozilla Firefox browser, click Tools and select Add-ons. (Ctrl+Shift+A); Find WiseConvert on the Extensions and Plugins tab and remove it from here.
3. Reset your search provider: Open Mozilla Firefox, click on the magnifier’s icon and select ‘Manage Search Engines….’; Choose ‘Search Results’ from the list and click ‘Remove’ and OK to save the changes; Additionally, go to ‘Tools’ → ‘Options’. Reset your startup homepage or change it to google.com under the ‘General tab’;
Finally, we must say that different anti-malwares have different virus data base, so try running some alternative tools to check your computer for browser hijacker.
Feel free to contact us again and let us know about your toolbar.
