We are glad that you ask at 2-spyware.com. The answer is easy - you are infected with Hao123 browser hijacker. When it infects the computer, it instantly changes system settings to make itself to default start page and search engine. There are two ways you can remove it - manual and automatic. We recommend using automatic way. To do that, just install a reputable anti-spyware software, such as SpyHunter, scan your computer and remove this virus. However, if you want to do it yourself, we have written a full removal guide that will guide you through all removal process, which you can find here: Hao123 removal.
Have a wonderful day and stay safe!

I also ran MalwareBytes and RogueKiller and deleted a bunch of the results, but it only resolves it for a little while before the problem comes back.
The only thing I haven't tried is resetting Firefox, but I'd really like to avoid that if possible.
My questions are:
- Is there a way to get rid of it without resetting Firefox?
- If not, is there a way in general?
- If I have to reset Firefox, is there a way to save off my bookmarks/settings?
Thanks!
We have also prepared a manual removal guide for this browser hijacker - you can find it on this article about Hao123 hijacker. Please study the removal guide carefully - yes, you cannot get rid of it without resetting Firefox, but it is highly recommended. As much as we see, you have not uninstalled the Hao123 browser extension. The article we have provided includes instructions how to find this extension and successfully remove it. Good luck!
