The main method of disabling it and also disable windows messneger run in background :) it works havent seen it in 3 months now

If you really really want to get rid of it, do as told, and rename folder C:\Program Files\Messenger to C:\Program Files\Messenger.off

l have gone into control panel... performace and maintainance.. admin tools ..services and messenger is not there. It keeps popping up in my task manager. l stop process and it pops right back in again. l am totally lost

look for
startup type
there will be 3 choices / Automatic / Manual / Disable /
you want Disable
also to stop it right now
look for
service status and press stop
now press apply and ok
all better now.....
