wow.exe is a harmful spyware utility.
wow.exe is NOT related to FriendlyWEB.
We got Following explanation from FriendlyWEB:
- Friendly Technologies developed a PPPoE Client, certified by Microsoft (WHQL), that was used by Bezeq, the Israeli Telco, under the name WOW. The name of this Telco broadband dialer is WOW.
- There is absolutely no connection between Friendly's WOW dialer and the harmful Spyware utility which is being spread as wow.exe.
- Friendly's WOW dialer does not include any collection of data from the user's PC.
- FWDLoad is a remote update utility used to check the availability of updates for the PPPoE product only using a proprietary protocol.
- FriendlyWeb has absolutely no connection to wow.exe. It is an obsolete product that was used to gather user-approved data for Quality of Service Monitoring for telcos. This same functionality can be found in the products of leading companies including Microsoft, SupportSoft, Motive, Network Associates, and many others.
