Hi everyone,

It seems I might have a problem similar to (or same as) http://www.2-spyware.com/forum/topic1042.html
However, what appeared to be the guilty critter was
"O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CTDrive] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\drvrup.dll,startup "
But unfortunately my log doesn't contain 'drvrup.dll' - so here's my log :

Hello, visitor!

The Hijack This log analyzer has analyzed your log. Please take a closer look on the results.

Your system seems to be infected with malicious parasites. Please follow the steps below in order to eliminate the infection and clean up your computer.

1.   Download the Pocket KillBox utility. You will need it later to delete parasite-related files and folders.
2. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5f4c3d09-b3b9-4f88-aa82-31332fee1c08} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\hp100.tmp
O2 - BHO: ToolBar888 - {C004DEC2-2623-438e-9CA2-C9043AB28508} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\{38D987DD-07DA-1033-0708-05042905001b}\MyToolBar.dll
O3 - Toolbar: ToolBar888 - {C004DEC2-2623-438e-9CA2-C9043AB28508} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\{38D987DD-07DA-1033-0708-05042905001b}\MyToolBar.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Service Host Process] C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [startkey] C:\WINDOWS\System32\server.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [startkey] C:\WINDOWS\System32\server.exe

3. The following entries are not malicious, but some of them are not used anymore. You may use HijackThis to fix a few of them. However, please keep in mind that some of the entries marked as Questionable or Not Needed are fully legitimate and might be required by installed software to work properly, while some others might be related to certain parasites. It is up to you to decide whether you need any of them, or not.
C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {14DA8B26-9841-4F73-9B4B-F5DF7FBF53FF} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\jkkji.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {6D794CB4-C7CD-4c6f-BFDC-9B77AFBDC02C} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k
O7 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System, DisableRegedit=1
O9 - Extra button: Web Anti-Virus - {1F460357-8A94-4D71-9CA3-AA4ACF32ED8E} - C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0\scieplugin.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: jkkji - C:\WINDOWS\System32\jkkji.dll (file missing)
O23 - Service: Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 (AVP) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0\avp.exe" -r (file missing)
O23 - Service: Creative Service for CDROM Access - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\CTsvcCDA.exe (file missing)

4. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!
5.   Use the Pocket KillBox utility to delete the following files:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\{A8D987DD-07DA-1033-0708-05042905001b}\Update.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\hp100.tmp
C:\Program Files\Common Files\{38D987DD-07DA-1033-0708-05042905001b}\MyToolBar.dll
C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\server.exe

The following files and Windows registry entries are marked as "unknown". Currently, the HijackThis Log Analyzer cannot provide required information on these items. The files and entries in the list below can be both malicious and fully legitimate. Because of this, please do not take any action! Wait for the forum responders or other forum users to provide you with necessary details and further instructions.
C:\Program Files\SciTE\SciTE.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CTDrive] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\drvxuz.dll,startup
O4 - Startup: ClearRecent.lnk = C:\Documents and Settings\Griffin\ClearRecent.bat
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winhoo32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winhoo32.dll

After going through all the steps, run another HijackThis scan and post a fresh log to the HijackThis analyzer. It is possible that some parasites your system was infected with were not removed completely and may restore themselves later.

Thank you for using the 2-Spyware.com HijackThis log analyzer!

Thanks to the analyzer for assisting.

The first entry I removed with HijackThis was indeed the guilty one : 'drvxuz.dll'.
Must have been another variant? (hence the different filename - from 'drvrup.dll').
Also - the colour of the icon in the system tray was yellow and red.

I guess sorting out all the other problems would also be a good idea ^_^
Thanks again.

Hi Eshazear. Welcome to the 2-Spyware.com forums!

Some of the malicious entries in your first log did not appear in HJT Analyzer's automated response. This makes me think that you are still infected.

Please run new HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here.
