This TrojanSPM/LX virus has just entered my computer.  I keep getting all these pop ups to downlaod these new antivirus programs which I do not want.  My current virus scanner that I have is not picking up the virus!  What can I do, or download to fix this problem!!

Did you read the description of the HijackThis log analysis forum section? It says

Please follow these steps:

1. Download Pocket KillBox or KillBox utility.

2. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {67982BB7-0F95-44C5-92DC-E3AF3DC19D6D} - C:\Program Files\Video ActiveX Object\isaddon.dll (file missing)
O18 - Protocol: msnim - {828030A1-22C1-4009-854F-8E305202313F} - "C:\PROGRA~1\MSNMES~1\msgrapp.dll" (file missing)
O21 - SSODL: buprestidae - {b59f3ba4-98da-4b5f-8a2d-7b56fb11140b} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\cthkpcv.dll

3. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!

4. Once in Safe Mode, use either Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following file:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\cthkpcv.dll

5. After you get done, restart your computer, run new HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here.


If the above steps do not work, download the SmitFraudFix tool, restart your system in Safe Mode and run a scan. The SmitFraudFix guide can be found on the official web site.
