Hijack Log Re-posted as Requested. Please help.

Please help me analyze this file. I believe my computer is infected with one or more spyware programs.

I have SuperAntispyware, Ad-Aware, Spybot... I've run all of them multiple times in and out of safe mode. Occasionally they find stuff and I clean it, but I've still got problems.

The main issue is that I get that 'blue screen of death'/system shutdown seemingly randomly, with a message about "page fault in non-paged area", this often happens when i run a McAfee virus scan....coincidence?

Also, my IE browser is acting really weird, can't go to yahoo, google etc... but they work fine in firefox. some kind of page hijack is going on in IE, trying to get me to go to "http://antispysolutions.com"

As for 'blue screen of death', it might be McAfee that's causing it. Try repairing, reinstalling or uninstalling McAfee and see if this works.

The 'blue screen of death' problem seems to have gone away after a lot of scanning/cleaning for spyware.

However, internet explorer is still acting funny. I don't seem to be forced to the 'anitspysolutions' page anymore, but Yahoo, MSNBC, and other sites still don't work. I get the 'page cannot be displayed' error. Stranger still, some other websites do still work fine.

Any ideas you have would be appreciated, thanks.

Use Notepad to open the file C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc\hosts. Delete everything in it except for the line 127.0.0.1       localhost.

Let me know if this works.

I opened up that file and and "127.0.0.1 localhost" was the only one there.

Please download an alternative browser such as Mozilla Firefox and try accessing those web sites. Please let me know if this works. I need to know whether this is caused by malicious Internet Explorer plug-in or malware that is still in your system.

I did try accessing those same websites in the Firefox browser, and they work fine.

In Internet Explorer, i get the "page cannot be displayed error"

Your HijackThis doesn't reveal any signs of infection.

Does SUPERAntiSpyware find any malware?

You might also want to scan your system with online virus scanner. I suggest Kaspersky

You should also look at plug-ins that might be installed to Internet Explorer. Launch IE, click on the Tools menu and select Managed Add-ons. Please let me know which add-ons are there.

GTO, sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this thread.

I'm having trouble running Kaspersky, didn't seem to launch for me in IE. and it's not designed to work in firefox
