You should read articles more carefully. Commands pskill, taskkill and kill do not work because you didn't download the corresponding programs or use different Windows version.. Here are few fragments of Killing malicious processes:

The first method is recommended in most situations. However, sometimes you may be unable to run Windows (NT) Task Manager. Some parasites can disable, corrupt or even delete this tool. In such cases you will need to use kill and tlist utilities included in Microsoft Resource Kit. However, few users have it installed, so consider using free third-party alternativeses pslist and pskill developed by Mark Russinovich. The first command allows to list running processes and the second one should be used to kill certain task. These tools can be downloaded from the following official web pages:
pskill: http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/PsKill.html
pslist: http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/PsList.html

In such cases you will need to use Windows XP native command line utilities tasklist and taskkill. The first command allows to view running processes and the second one should be used to kill certain task.

But did you download third-party tools that run those commands?

After removing most of spysheriff by using multiple online forum's instructions (running dr. web-cureit, spy sweeper, ewido anti-malware, hoster application, and cleanup 4.0) and full version of spydoctor I still am unable to access the windows task manager. I tried the command prompt but this states that taskkill is not a recognized command. I am running Windows XP home, and the outside utilities previously mentioned for this appear to be for windows NT and 2000. What else can I do? Can I still use these programs? Also, whenever I start up my computer I get the error message: "error loading '00kk03qo.dll' The specific module could not be found" I tried the full version of registry mechanic which hasn't helped. Any ideas of what this is? Finally, all my email in Thunderbird is gone. Any way to ged this back? Thanks in advance for any help.

It sounds like it is not SpySheriff that causes such problems with the Task Manager. Please download the HijackThis program, scan your system with it and post a fresh log into the HijackThis log analysis section. I shall analyze it and provide you with the exact solution.
