1.Please use Hijackthis on the following entries:

2.Download Smitrem. While in Safe mode, extract smitrem, then run RunThis, let the program do it's work, after it's done restart it normally.


3. After you get done, restart your computer, run new HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here.

still getting unwanted pop ups. Internet explorer starts up by itself and shows an add. If I'm in another program it will even switch to the add which is very annoying....

I'm open for any additional tips

Got some results myself, by looking carefully at the pop up windows and the names that showed up in there. Each window started with "CiD:...."

I looked up that name on the internet and it had installed a program on my computer which I could remove using add/remove software.

I'm not sure if there are any anomalities in my hijachthis logfile (which I would like to know off of course), but for now I'm happy with no unwanted pop ups
