I used Spyware doctor and ANTISpyware. Spyware doctor for a high threat level file called Exploit.ipidief or something of that nature along with a few other things. Instead of purchasing the program im going to re-format my pc and install xp again. Re-formatting will take care of this problem correct?

hello,

reformating hard drives is a secure solution. however, you lose everything stored on a computer, so this option is tricky. if you don't see losing documents/pictures/other files a problem, then go for reformating.

i can't find information about the file you;ve mentioned, but there's another thing that concerns me. the only security program named simply "antispyware" is a corrupt one. you can read about it right here : http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-antispyware-2008.html . i hope you've meant some legitimate software when you said "ANTISpyware", otherwise this program is the cause of your problems. if you have the rogue antispyware described on the link i referred to, then remove the software and your computer should be fine.
