Antivirus 2009?

I've been told that I have Antivirus 2009, but I cannot find it anywhere on my computer. If I don't restart my computer after an hour or so, my browser starts slowing down, and pages have problems loading, as well as my connection having problems. I've tried getting Spybot, Malwarebytes and a few other programs to try to remove whatever is causing this, but they either are corrupt, or won't go through the installation progress. I constantly get popups for virus programs, which are a sign of Antivirus 2009 I think?
Well, whatever it is, I've tried to get rid of it, but I don't think it's worked. Any recommendations for my problem? I really want to get this stupid problem fixed. Thanks.

Just go avast, downland it,
---> scan
__> remove old antivrius
now everything will be OK
