Problems with drwtsn32.exe and various programs

Hi All,

I believe that I have a virus/spyware but I am unable to isolate and remove it.
SYSTEM: Win XP SP3 w latest updates
AV SOFT: Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 w lastest definitions

PROBLEM: During startup and general use programs will fail to open resulting in the "Error Reporting" dialog after pressing "Don't Send" windows will launch multiple instances of drwtsn32.exe that all fail to open and result in the error reporting dialog opening many times (one for each instance) and then after combating the endless flow of dialogs it will finally give up and carry on. Some of the programs that will not work are;
CMD.EXE
Media Player Classic
Programs that work just fine;
IE, Firefox, Windows Media Player, Acrobat, Office Apps

I have looked everywhere that I know of and cannot come up with a solution.

I have re-formatted and all is going well so far... I am currently rescanning my computer looknig for any remaining traces on my other hard drives. So far I have found and deleted 150 odd occurances on one of my hard drives.
