After going through all the steps, run another HijackThis scan and post a fresh log to the HijackThis analyzer. It is possible that some parasites your system was infected with were not removed completely and may restore themselves later.

Hi, your log looks good. Do you get any error message? Are you sure that System Restore  is enabled? It could be anything really, could you please explain what happens when you try to restore the system?

Additionally, scan your computer with Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.aspx
and Spyware Doctor:
http://www.2-spyware.com/review-spyware-doctor.html

If these programs won't find anything suspicious, that means your PC us clean. However, you should also check for rootkits. I recommend GMER. Download from: http://www.gmer.net

If everything goes fine, than likely your problem is not caused by malware or virus.
