Hi, DPMS308. Welcome to 2-Spyware.com forums!

SpyAxe doesn't change the administrator's login name and password. It also doesn't disable the Task Manager. It sounds like your system is also infected with some other parasites. Please let me know more. Download the HijackThis program, run a system scan and post a fresh log here. I will analyse it and provide you with further instructions.

P.S. This thread will be moved to a more appropriate section.

Your system is compromised with dangerous Internet worms - variants of Sdbot and Zotob. Namely these parasite have changed the administrator's login name and password and disabled the Task Manager.

I see you do not have any antivirus program. Please install it immediately! Such software would automatically get rid of the worms long time ago! I recommend NOD32 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

In case you cannot get an antivirus quickly enough please download and run Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool (recommended) or follow these manual removal instructions:

1. Download the KillBox utility.

2. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank

O15 - Trusted Zone: http://*.winnanny.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://*.winsoftware.com

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Services] lssrv.exe

3. Now reboot your system into Safe Mode. This step is very important!

4. Use KillBox to delete the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\per.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\lssrv.exe

5. After you get done, restart your computer, run another HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here.

One parasite file is still in your system. It runs a malicious process and might be responsible for launching the command prompt on system startup. Please follow these steps to delete it:

1. Use HijackThis to fix this entry:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ControlPanel] C:\WINDOWS\system32\per.exe internat.dll,LoadKeyboardProfile

2. Restart your system into Safe Mode.

3. Open the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder, find the per.exe file and delete it manually or using the KillBox tool.

4. Then restart your computer, run another HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here.

It looks like your system gets continuously reinfected by the worms. You have successfully removed one of them once, now I don't see the other one in your log, but one that you have removed came back. This means that your system is vulnerable. It wasn't updated for a long time and definitely has numerous security holes.

First of all, please apply all Microsoft Windows XP updates and fixes! Then install an antivirus! Running the system without it is very risky! If you cannot afford a paid one, get a trial version of NOD32 or a free version of AVG Anti-Virus.

I'll be unable to help you until your system will not be protected by antivirus software. Your computer will keep being reinfected again and again.

GTO I am now paying for Bellsouth Internet security service which continuously runs Anti-virus, Firewall, and Anti-spyware. I also have Microsof AntiSpyware Beta 1 installed.  Alll Microsoft and mentioned programs are updated and current.  I down loaded and ran the two anti-virus programs you suggested, but nothing was detected.  Thanks.

Well, your problem is an odd one. I can see only two malicious files and two harmful processes in your system. These are:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\per.exe
and
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Lssrv.exe

To completey clean up your system, you have to make sure none of these files exist and do not run the corresponding processes. It sounds like your antivirus software is unable to catch the worms that make into your system by exploiting unpatched security vulnerabilities. That is why the Windows Update is highly recommended.
