hello to all on this forum ..
to start off i have to say i'm a complete noob at technical stuff on computers .. sure i know how to work things .. but thats it .. when it comes to file names and all the little things i am clueless.. so if anyone replies please tell me step by step ..

so heres my problem:
i have been infected with this "total security" av thing ..
it starts up when i turn on my computer .. and wont stop popping up until i end its process .. its process name is strange numbers .. and _exe8 something .. i cant rememeber coz then i would have to restart my computer ..

i recently read this site .. http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-total-security.html .. and it has a list of things that i can manually delete ..
heres the thing
its not actually installed any where .. i cant remove it from the Add/Remove function in the Control Panel cause its not there .. its not in Program Files .. or anywhere for that matter ..

so i wanted to ask is how do i get rid of it ..

thanks
josh

Try to kill its processes using task manager. Then download MalwareBytes anti-malware from
http://www.2-spyware.com/review-malwarebytes-anti-malware.html

Rename the installer and run it.

It will be  mbam-setup.exe, so change to test123.exe for example.

Because likely, Total security will block mbam-setup.exe or mbam.exe and you won't be able to run it.

I'm glad you solved your problem. You may also run a quick scan with Spyware Doctor to make sure that your PC is clean now. Of course, it's not necessary, but I still recommend you to do so.
