So.....I've got this MS Spyware 2009 trojan on my desktop AND old laptop.  It's progressed to the point where the whole system freezes once Windows loads and I get to the home screen.  My wall paper will load, but no icons come up and I can't progress past that point.  Since Windows XP doesn't seem to have DOS, I can't do anything to search this thing out and get rid of it.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello timbomuldoon,

have you tried to run MalwareBytes anti-malware in safe mode?
If not, then load Windows in safe mode with networking, download MalwareBytes and perform full scan.

Good luck!

Hi Rodi,
Thanx for the tip.  It freezes in safe mode as well, I just get a black screen that says "safe mode" in each corner.  I've got malwarebytes on a disc and on a usb, but I can't get to it.  I tried to run it before the system was completely infected, but the virus would prevent it from loading.
Do you know of a way to run it w/o Window?

Thanx again.

Well, you can use Bootable antivirus CD. It is loaded before operating system so viruses can't effect the process. The list of rescue CDs can be found here:

I would choose BitDefender from that list or Kaspersky.
