Hi, I dont know what caused this, but 1 day ago when I was trying to start my second comp. Something had gone terribly wrong and wouldn't let me start the comp "fully".
Instead I get a message saying "\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM either missing or corrupt".I have tried to restart computer with latest working setting, start from boot cd or what its called, also when I press "r" as my comp is starting up it looks fine for a minute but then freezes at "starting windows". (Not sure of what the exact texts are, since im at my dads to be able to ask for help.) Can get a better description if it helps though.

Again im sorry if this is not a virus or anything but not really sure what went wrong.

Hello,

Sorry to hear that you can't use your computer. This is a common problem. Microsoft wrote a tutorial how to solve this problem. See here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545
However, it is a bit time-consuming job and after all may not solve the problem completely. Despite that, I hope will be able to fix your PC using Microsoft's guide. P.S. Don't hesitate to ask if needed.

Good luck!
