Adware.Ist....Adware.CDT

Having problems getting rid of Adware.Istbar and Adware.CDT. Symantec removal tools aren't removing it and detections continue to show up in Norton....scans reveal that the two are still in my machine. I have followed manual removal advice, but the suggested harmful coding is not showing up in my Registry. Any advice on programs that will address the problem and rid my computer of the two?

Have you tried Spyware Doctor? I am pretty sure that this advandced spwyare remover will eliminate all the parasites your system is infected with. You can also try Spy Sweeper and CounterSpy. If you want a free tool, please turn your attention to Spybot - Search & Destroy, Microsoft AntiSpyware or Ad-Aware SE Personal.

You need a spyware remover to get rid of adware threats. Regular antivirus software does not detect most adware parasites.

Thanks GTO for the relpy. Ad-aware and Microsoft were and still are running on my computer. While both programs identify the problem neither one can address it. I am a bit skeptical to pay for another search and destroy program without certainty that the program will rid my computer of the threats. I appreciate the insight and I plan on checking out the options you listed. Thanks again.

If you will run into problems with automatic spyware removers, please feel free to download the HijackThis program, scan your system with it and post a fresh log here. I'll help you to manually remove the parasites.

GTO, thanks again for the prompt response. I purchased Spyware Doctor and have run a few scans since. The only potential threat that my scans detect and can not eliminate  is as follows: Trojan. Dropper.Agent.TK. I have downloaded HijackThis and any advice you can proivde with concern to the removal of the trojan agent is much appreciated.
