I am looking for a reliable pop-up and ad blocker. I need a freeware or cheap shareware tool. Do you know any?

Try Popup stopper by Panicware.Basic but good and best of all,its free

Now Firefox and IE have built-in blockers...Basically I'm satisfied with the one in FireFox. Have you tried this browser?

Pop up blocker depends on which browser you are using....
i think for Firefox or opera you can use different settings as compare explorer

try to download and install yahoo toolbar its block 100% popups i am sure you will never ask for popups,
