Malicious files. How do I find and remove

I have Norton Anti Virus and Spyware Doctor. Norton shows a file "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\CONFLICT.1\MirarSetup.exe" as a threat, Spyware Doctor does not find any threats. I have tried to remove this file using the removal instructione from Norton but am unable to locate the file. All searches come back with " no files found". The only trace I can find is by running the Norton Protection Wizard which shows the file as not being allowed to access the Internet by the Norton Firewall.
I also note that Norton tells me that this file may not be malicious but part of the operating system. How do I find out?

The mirarsetup.exe file is related to the Mirar adware parasite. You really have to delete it. However, this file is hidden. It may remain invisble even when the system is configured to display such files.

Please try the following in order to delete mirarsetup.exe:

1. Click on the Start button and launch the Run... tool.

2. Type in cmd. This will open the Command Prompt.

3. Type in the following command:
del /F "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\CONFLICT.1\mirarsetup.exe"
If this command doesn't work, try another one:
del /F C:\WINDOWS\Downlo~1\CONFLI~1\mirars~1.exe
