I am unable to use System Restore.Whenever I try to use the restore it goes through all the stages and after reboot it always says System Restore was unable to Restore to the point I asked for..Also the Norton Antivirus is failing to kick in at the time denoted in Sheduled Tasks. All my scans of both Antispyware and Antivirus have shown up nothing.I have tried Trend-Micro,Panda,Norton and some others. Could there still be a nasty gremlin at work. Bryan

Hi, blindpugh. Welcome to the 2-Spyware.com forums! And thank you for your patience!

This can be caused by the infection. Please download the HijackThis program, run a scan and post your log here.

You might try turn off System restore and then do a reboot. Then try turning it back on to see if it changes.

Here's my situation. I'm broke, unemployed, overweight and my hair is disappearing faster than the Amazon rainforest. But that's not the problem. I have disabled Real Time Protection on Windows Defender because I have Norton Internet Security and I know you shouldn't have 2 anti-virus systems working so I leave it all up to NIS. The first time I tried to use System Restore, the screen told me it didn't work and to shut of any anti-virus program running. So I disable NIS anti-virus and tried System Restore again. Again it said it was unable to run SR. My question is do I need to completely shut down NIS in order to use SR? Any suggestions?
