Info about wscntfy.exe

Hi to all the virus PORs, I am just wondering what does the wscntfy.exe actually do to the computer?  My friend is worrying that it's a spyware that can harm the system? Can anyone please my friend and I help?
I will be appreciated.  Also, how can I be more caution with spywares?  Like: checking the Proccesses in my Windows Task Manager?

The wscntfy.exe file is a legitimate system component. Usually, it is not spyware, and therefore cannot harm the system.

From WinTask Process Library:

wscntfy.exe is a part of the Microsoft Windows Security system and outputs the current security status of your computer. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

The real wscntfy.exe file should be in your default system directory - C:\WINDOWS\System32. However, if it is located elsewhere, then it might be related to some malicious parasites.
