how do i get rid of a system 32\ssqpm.dll file.  The name shows up as Virtumundo.

VirtuMundo can be removed either automatically using special removal tools and anti-spyware software, or manually deleting malicious files. It is up to you what removal way to choose. I recommend using automatic removal tools.

So, download THIS Symantec's VirtuMundo removal tool and run it. It should do all the job for you.

If this tool didn't work, you can manually delete the ssqpm.dll file. Download the KillBox utility and use it to delete this DLL.

GTO thanks for the reponse.  I downloaded the kilbox, however the prompt said that it could not delete this file.  I have already tried the symantec removal tool (this said that i did not have the file on my computer, however microsoft anti-spyware is finding it everytime i run a scan)  any suggestions on where to go from here?  Thanks so much for your help.

Well, if those tools didn't help, please follow these instructions:

1. Download another VirtuMundo removal tool - VundoFix.
2. Install/unpack it.
3. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode.
4. Once in Safe Mode open the VundoFix folder (where you installed VundoFix) and double-click on the KillVundo.bat file. Once a warning will appear press Enter.
Then enter exact path to the file. It should be
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ssqpm.dll (it may also be C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\ssqpm.dll or any other directory containing your Windows installation). Press Enter.

This should remove VirtuMundo. Just don't forget to reboot your computer into Safe Mode. This step is very important.

While in Safe Mode you also may rerun Symantec's tool and KillBox.
