Post Post subject: Spyware related to Internet Explorer.... Reply with quote

Computer used to be infected with spyware, spyware was removed using Killbox in Safe Mode. But now, everytime I double click the "E" icon to surf the internet, intead of linking/opening my set home page, it links/opens "http://esafetypage.com/" and advices a screen warning to download security software to remove "W32.Myzor.FK@yf

My concern is not the virus, since its a fake screen telling it, but how can I remove the linking to that webpage everytime I open Internet Explorer? No matter what homepage I leave set, it opens as "http://esafetypage.com/"

Thanks in advance for any help, by the way, thanks for the creation of such a wonderful and helpful site such as this.

You are still infected. Please follow these steps:

1. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:
O1 - Hosts: 205.214.67.211 auto.search.msn.com
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {192c5b4a-3efd-40c7-9f99-c472deb8efc0} - C:\Program Files\Super Codec\isaddon.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {657757FD-ABE5-4663-A356-1CB640A8494F} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\crmcfg32.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {77701e16-9bfe-4b63-a5b4-7bd156758a37} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: adobepnl.ADOBE_PANEL - {C3E7E8D3-0B97-4FF3-B1BD-DAB4B04CD697} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\adobepnl.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [taskdir] C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskdir.exe
O16 - DPF: {2048B51E-8D74-4762-82CE-B48CF545EEEA} - http:/ /www.a99b.com/go/sc.cab
O16 - DPF: {5C3A9EA6-4068-46B8-8B5A-692FB10607B1} (IntDialerData Class) - http:/ /www.grupomarineda.net/auto/DialerData.cab

2. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!

3. Once in Safe Mode, use either Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskdir.exe
C:\Program Files\Super Codec\isaddon.dll

Also, delete the C:\Program Files\Super Codec folder.

4. Reboot your computer. Download the free version of SUPERAntiSpyware. Install the program, update its definitions and run a complete system scan. Remove all the threats the application will find.

5. After you get done, run new HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here.

As for the KillBox Backup, open the C:\!KillBox folder and move safe files in it to their original location.
