I am having a similar problem to Marko. I cannot get rid of a virus called trojan vundo. I continue to get the message that Synamtics is unable to repair file and access to the file is denied. I have ran the fix vundo programe but it can not get rid of it.
Any suggestions? |

Hi, Steve. Welcome to 2-Spyware.com forums.
Did you do everything right? These removal instructions should really help:
1. Download the VirtuMundo removal tool - VundoFix.
2. Install/unpack it.
3. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode.
4. Once in Safe Mode open the VundoFix folder (where you installed VundoFix) and double-click on the KillVundo.bat file. Once a warning appears press Enter.
Then enter exact path to the file. It should be
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ssqpm.dll. Press Enter.
If this will not remove the trojan, please download and install a recommended spyware remover (Spyware Doctor, Microsoft AntiSpyware, Spy Sweeper, CounterSpy) Then reboot into Safe Mode (this step is very important!) and run full system scan. |

I got as far as entering the path to file. It asked for the second path, I didn't know what to put in so I pressed enter again. That wasn't good. It ended up with a blank screen in safe mode. I had to turn the compter off to get it to reboot. Even the on/off button on the computer wouldn't work.
When it asks for the second path, do I enter the same c:\windows\system32\ etc.?

I don't know what I did, but it seems to be gone. No window on the desktop that tells me I have a virus.

You could type the same path or simply leave it blank. It is quite unusual for me to see that VundoFix behaves so unusually. Nevertheless, namely this tool did the trick and deleted the infected file. I'm glad you got rid of the Vundo trojan |
