I did this immediately after installing Spy Sweeper and Spyware Doctor. For the time being I disabled them after taking this log.

Fixing the 2 entries with HJT was futile as they came back automatically. I tried killbox on the two mentioned files in safe mode and received "This file could not be deleted" for both.
I'll keep an eye on the thread, I'm probably missing something obvious as far as the file deletion goes. |

I tried a "delete upon reboot" and both files were successfully deleted. I then successfully fixed the two entries. Here is an updated log:

Well, I hate to post yet again but I'll update the log. I spent a few hours using a combination of programs, manual methods, and of course safe mode to get rid of as much as possible.
I might go as far as saying that I'm clean now. The Brave Sentry fake warning desktop background is gone and my internet works fine. Computer is running very fast in comparison and my scans for viruses and spyware are coming up empty now.

You are still infected. Please follow these steps:
1. Download Pocket KillBox or KillBox utility.
2. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Userinit.exe,yveryfi.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [InstallShieldSetup] C:\PROGRA~1\INSTAL~1\{AD883~1\setup.exe -rebootC:\PROGRA~1\INSTAL~1\{AD883~1\reboot.ini -l0x9
O23 - Service: Scaiedrph - Unknown owner - (no file)
3. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!
4. Once in Safe Mode, use either Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\yveryfi.exe
C:\Progra~1\INSTAL~1\{AD883~1\setup.exe
Also, delete the entire folder C:\PROGRA~1\INSTAL~1\{AD883~1
5. After you get done, restart your computer, run new HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here. |
