My computer is infected with the Nebuler S Downloader and Virumonde viruses, and who knows what else. I used Spyware Doctor to attempt to remove them, but without any luck. During a full system scan in Spyware Doctor, the computer crashes, a blue screen comes up and says a fatal system error has ocurred. During a quick scan (intelli-scan) with Spyware Doctor, it detects the Virtumonde viruses, but when I try to remove them, once again a blue screen comes up and says this:
STOP: c000021a {FATAL SYSTEM ERROR}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000001 (0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shut down.
Anyway, here is my hjt.log file from the hijackthis scan, any help would be most appreciated:

Hi rouse. Welcome to the 2-Spyware.com forums!
Next time, please DO NOT create duplicate threads! It's against our rules.
Please follow these steps:
1. Download Pocket KillBox or KillBox utility.
2. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [runner1] C:\WINDOWS\retadpu1000272.exe 61A847B5BBF72813329B385475FB01F0B3E35B6638993F4661AA4EBD86D67C56389B284534F310F3D1DC7E4638E8323A15806F97BDE4417E70CE7C0726B954E2C2832210359926033AAC
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [setup] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\System32\bjjrosgx.dll",realset
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [qooi] C:\Program Files\Common Files\qooi\qooim.exe
3. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!
4. Once in Safe Mode, use either Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\retadpu1000272.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\bjjrosgx.dll
C:\Program Files\Common Files\qooi\qooim.exe
Also, delete this folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\qooi
5. After you get done, restart your computer, run new HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here.
P.S. Your system is not up-to-date! You have to install Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Internet Explorer 7. Also apply all latest updates and security fixes. |

My apologies if I started duplicate threads - when I tried posting the first time it gave me an error, but must have posted without my knowledge. Thank you very much for helping me with this stuff...

None of the above files existed.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\qooi
I deleted the above folder which had one folder inside it and several files.
Also, I noticed that there was a folder here:
C:\Program Files\Windows\qooi
I left this folder alone.

Hi rouse
Your system is still infected. Please do this:
1. Use HijackThis to fix the following entry:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [setup] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\System32\wvgtvylk.dll",realset
2. Use Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following file (if present):
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wvgtvylk.dll
Also, delete this folder:
C:\Program Files\Windows\qooi
3. Post a fresh log. |

Thanks GTO for your help with this.
I did what you said and fixed that entry with hijacthis.
Although you did not state it, I used the SAFE MODE to delete the file and folder with Pocket KillBox.
Also, I though it might help you to know that my antivirus has popped up and stated that these viruses were detected and supposedly deleted:
Win32\Darksma.X
Win32\Vundo.CR
I am certain other viruses are still floating around. My computer is extermely slow.
Here is my current hjt.log:

I am trying to see what Spyware Doctor can do to get rid of these viruses, but it does not have success in deleting them - specifically the Virtumonde virus. I though it might be helpful to show you what Spyware Doctor found:
Does this help at all and is there anything I can do manually?
Thanks,

Hi rouse
Try this:
1. Use HijackThis to fix the following entry:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 59.187.233.132:8080
2. Restart in Safe Mode with Networking Support.
3. Use KillBox to delete these files:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\xponnpmd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\mllml.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\mllml.ini
4. Use Kaspersky Online Scanner to scan your system for viral threats.
5. Then reboot and post a fresh log here. |

GTO,
I just wanted to say thanks for your help. Instead of using the Kaspersky Online Scanner that you suggested, I decided to get Kaspersky Anitvirus v6.0 and it worked great.
It looks like all of the viruses have been deleted.
Thanks,
Rouse |
