Hello, visitor!
The Hijack This log analyzer has analyzed your log. Please take a closer look on the results.
Your log does not indicate any spyware or virus infection. However, there are some entries that you might want to fix. Please follow the steps below.
The following entries are not malicious, but some of them are not used anymore. You may use HijackThis to fix a few of them. However, please keep in mind that some of the entries marked as Questionable or Not Needed are fully legitimate and might be required by installed software to work properly, while some others might be related to certain parasites. It is up to you to decide whether you need any of them, or not.

Hi woohoo. Welcome to the 2-Spyware.com forums!
Why doesn't Kaspersky Antivirus remove the parasites it finds? Or does it?
Please do this:
1. Terminate this process and delete this file (unless you know it's safe):
C:\Documents and Settings\acer\Desktop\scanner.exe.exe
2. Use Notepad to open the file C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc\hosts. Delete all the lines in it except for 127.0.0.1 localhost. |

Hey GTO,
Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it.
Kaspersky Antivirus picks up and finds these parasites, but I am not entirely sure of whether it removes them. I always click the delete option although some don't delete, then all I can do is 'deny'. Before, it would find them very regularly, but now it hardly finds anything. It still finds a couple though none the less and i don't know whether it has improved or just gotten worse.
I deleted the file, scanner.exe (or C:\Documents and Settings\acer\Desktop\scanner.exe.exe ) and I also checked the hosts file (C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc\hosts) through notepad and the only file that was there was 127.0.0.1 localhost.
Please advise and looking forward to your reply. |
