It seems my computer is infected with adware/malware. I've tried many ways to search for it but have been unsuccessful. It automatically popsup windows with explorer. Some of the consistent websites is Winantivirus pro which is rogue software. I've also noticed now that there are 2 icons which pop up in my system tray saying my compurter is infected. One is red with an ! in it and another is a yellow triangle. I'm posting my Hijackthis log. Please help!

I don't understand how my machine is not infected. It keeps popping up ads in new windows and slows down the machine as well as causes machine to just lock up at times. I still have two icons in my system tray one is red circle and the other a yellow triangle with ! in both. Yellow one opens window with ultimate fixer stuff and ther red one opens a window with "spyware detection alert". Also as I mentioned before, I keep getting popup for winantivirus pro. Please help.

Please follow these steps:
1. Download Pocket KillBox or KillBox utility.
2. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:

3. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!

GTO, thanks for the reply. I tried to do what you suggested. I used hijackthis and fixed the entries you suggested. However, when I try to run my computer in safe mode, it gets hung up with a black screen. I hit F8 after booting and I do see all the options for booting. I choose safe mode which is the first option, then it goes through its booting and comes to login screen. When I log in either as administrator or as another user it goes to a black screen with safemode written in all four corners. No desktop is visible. I can use ctrl-alt-del to access windows task manager. Let me know what I can do to fix this. I tried to edit boot.ini in msconfig with same result. Thanks for your help. |

I coudn't start computer in safemode so I used killbox utility in normal windows mode and deleted some files. It couldn't find one and wouldn't delete another one. Then I ran super antispyware and CCleaner. This is the log after this. I don't get those annying icons in system tray anymore. However, I still get popups. Winantispyware seems to be most common popup.
