I downloaded RegDelNull and was able to perform the delete.
I also fired up the Registry Editor and deleted any traces of WinHound found.
I rebooted, yet when my desktop came up, it still wasn't correct. I now have a white desktop and I cannot move my icons around. I can work, but I'd like to fix this problem.
When I look at the "Properties" on my desktop, I only get one Tab and that being the GENERAL Tab.
On the Tab I have the following values:
Protocol: File Protocol
Type: HTML Document
Connection: Not Encrypted
Address (URL): file://C:\WINDOWS\warnhp.html
Size: Not Available
Created: Not Available
Modified: Not Avalable
Please........PLEASE HELP !!!! |

Dude, i have the same problem, I can tell you how to sort the desktop problem out, click on "start" "settings" "control panel" "display" and select the web content tab (i think its called web content). Just uncheck the related check boxes that appear and desktop will be sorted out. As for the hijacked homepage and annoying pop up advertisments, i cant help cos im having the same problem. You need to buy removal software for that.
Cheers! |

You're instructions were perfect....... I owe you a nice cold one. (or at least a 6 pack).
This corrected the appearance of the desktop, but now my only other issue is moving icons on the desktop. If I try to pick one up and put it in say the lower right hand corner (for whatever reason) they all stay lined up on the left side of the desktop.
I'm sure this is a no-brainer, but leave it to me to have these issues.
Thanks again............ |
