On the website that describes WinSpyKiller you state:
"Don't forget to block winspykiller.com, using your HOSTS file for more protection."
How do I use my HOSTS file if I don't know what it is? I don't have the foggiest what you're talking about, when you refer to a "HOSTS file."

Thanks for the reply, Bobby.
The tutorial only address blocking website (IP) addresses. How do you block spyware itself?

Another question:
I have the SMTP server setup as 127.0.0.1 in my Email for my MSGTAG program, and it's listening on Port 7362 for smtp.west.cox.net. My HOSTS file has only this listed "127.0.0.1 localhost." Does this mean the IP address is blocked from sending out Email?

hello
i'm not sure what you meant with 'block spyware itself'. if you want to avoid WinSpyKiller in advance, then you can simply avoid downloading and using this software, you can also block the website of this parasite so you won't won't visit it accidentally and you won't get infected. Firewall is helpful in blocking malicious activities on a computer.
however if you are already infected you can't 'block' WinSpyKiller, you need to remove it. if that's the case here's manual WinSpyKiller removal. if the manual removal looks a bit complicated, you can simply run antispyware to get rid of this thing. you can find free anti spyware here.
good luck and let us know how it's going on

I don't have any infection. I misunderstood you. I realize that you were talking about blocking the WinSpyKiller site, not avoiding the spyware. I've got a good spyware program that I run every day.

You didn't my other question;
I have the SMTP server setup as 127.0.0.1 in my Email for my MSGTAG program, and it's listening on Port 7362 for smtp.west.cox.net. MSGTAG is a program that runs in the background, tags my Email messages, and then lets me know when the recipient views the message. My HOSTS file has only this listed "127.0.0.1 localhost." Does this mean the IP address is blocked from sending out Email?"
