Hi Everyone,
This forum looks like a good place to get some very useful information.
I am having an issue with popups coming up on my PC and wanting me to download from a particular site some spyware or adware removal programs. The pops up are from "Windows Security Alert" and state this: Windows has detected an Internet attack attempt.... Somebody's trying to infect your PC with spyware or harmful viruses. Run full system scan nw to protect your PC from Internet attacks, hijacking attempts, and spyware! Click here to download spyware remover for total protection"
I have a brand new Norton 360 on my machine that is up-to-date and it not detected it. I did some surfing on the net about this and went to a site and purchased a program called Spy Doctor. When i scan my PC, It will identify the infected files and remove them but they then come right back. Where Spy Doctor tells me they are in the registry editor I do not see them. Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove this nasty invader?
I have done a "Find" in my registry editor and have found the words Adware.Agent.BN and also Win32.Adware.Agent.BN. Should these be deleted from the registry editor, will that take care of the problem???
Sorry this is so length... _________________ Thanks,
Jen |

hello there,
Adware.Agent.BN and Win32.Adware.Agent.BN is the same thing. you can find removal of this parasite here. do not download the programs offered by Agent.BN adware, you will only lose money. i strongly recommend to get rid of this parasite as soon as possible, because it's capable of installing other computer parasites. if the manual removal looks a bit complicated to you, spyware doctor should be able to delete this parasite.
good luck. _________________ I reccomend spyware doctor and malware bytes as ultimate protection. |

hello again, i got your message, but want to post a reply here, cos it might be helpful if there are others infected with the same thing.
if Adware.Agent.BN reappears after spyware doctor deletes it, apparently there is some part of the parasite left which restores the whole infection. you should try to remove Adware.Agent.BN in a safe mode. here's safe mode tutorial. some of the malicious files can't be removed in normal mode, because they are in use. and most of malicious files are inactive in a safe mode so you should be able to get rid of them. _________________ I reccomend spyware doctor and malware bytes as ultimate protection. |
