Is spyware doctor still the best spyware protection? Would you recomend paying a little more for "Spyware doctor with AntiVirus"? Currently I have a 60 day norton subscription on my new laptop and would like good protection |

naming a single antispyware the best one is a bold move. it's easy to tell if one tool is better than another by comparing features or simply running both and checking if they detect malware. i don't really trust single security tool to do everything; if i notice something suspicious and one antispyware doesn't detect a thing i don't settle down and run another tool to make sure it's clean.
back to your initial question. antispyware + antivirus is much better security than antispyware alone. _________________ I reccomend Spyware Doctor and Malwarebytes’ Anti-malware as ultimate protection. |

I know I was just meaning which one offers more protection. I've had problems with spyware before and I tried a number that wouldn't help so I had to use HijackThis to get rid of it and some other software. |

spyware doctor is reputable antispyware, however i'd strongly recommend having more than one anti-spyware installed on a computer. no matter how good one tool is, they all are updated on a different time and they detect different things, so having additional antispyware tool is always an advantage. i suggest you use some free anti-spyware along with spyware doctor. _________________ I reccomend Spyware Doctor and Malwarebytes’ Anti-malware as ultimate protection. |

If your running Norton AV and or FW you need to delete Norton prior to adding Spyware Doctor with AV and FW. I was not impressed with it at all since removal of Norton was required and it zapped a perfectly good program license. My XP locked up with both installed. With everything off and the Spyware Doctor with AV and FW loaded all was fine however, I placed some known Malware items on disk the Spyware Doctor program did not find. |
