Howdy

While trying to remove DSW.Delf.2.AQ from a friends computer I downloaded and ran Combofix without fully reading the tutorial (which I found later of course) and failed to do the following:

"You should now install the Windows Recovery Console. The Windows recovery console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery mode that allows us to help you in the case that your computer has a problem after an attempted removal of malware. If you use Windows XP and have a Windows CD, then you can follow the instructions found in the tutorial listed below."

I also failed to turn off AVG while running the Combofix program.

This leaves me with two problems . . .

One - I still have Delf on the machine.

Two - My only restore point is of course just after running combofix.

I have not run system restore . . . or done anything else . . .

I will now pay much more attention !

Any help or direction will be appreciated.

Thanks all

Scott

hello there,
your post confused me a little. why do you want to do system restore and go back to when you hadn't used combofix? what has gone wrong? as for deleting DSW.Delf.2.AQ infection, you need a good anti-spyware, you hadn't mentioned if you got one. AVG is antivirus and it's not for removing infections like DSW.Delf.2.AQ. if you hadn't tried running antispyware yet, i recommend running malwarebyte's antimalware : http://www.2-spyware.com/review-malwarebytes-anti-malware.html i use it myself and it's pretty good with removing computer parasites.

instead of using AVG to remove DSW.Delf.2.AQ. try and go for AVAST it was one of the
that helps to deal such kind of files.
