Is Messenger Plus! a virus (or worm, trojan horse, spyware, adware, malware, bundleware, parasite etc)?

Patchou (Author of Messenger Plus!) said that if the sponsor software is installed which is optional, adware will infect the computer.

Last time, I didn't install the sponsor software. However, while I was scanning my computer with Microsoft AntiSpyware, the results said that Messenger Plus! is infected. It deleted the files of Messenger Plus!.

Now in the Net, it is a confusion whether Messenger Plus! is harmful or not.

Hello.

To be honest i think it does start up pop ups and might make your computer into a pop up zombie. Although the use of it with MSN Messneger is Rather stupid. It doesn't make much different to the MSN messenger services.
