Hi my name is Wayne ,could someone please help me . I seem to have some spyware . I run microsoft antispyware,xsoftspy and have just downloaded hijackthis, virobt expert 4 and The Shield firewall.... I also can't get microsoft upgrades.thanks .. Wayne y2:51:24 PM, on 1/5/2006

Hi, wayne. Welcome to 2-Spyware.com forums!
It looks like your system is infected with a worm or virus, not a spyware parasite. Although this threat can be easily removed with the help of most modern antiviruses, your protection suite didn't get rid of it. It's no wonder, because PC Security Shield you are running is made by the same company that sells Privacy Defender, corrupt anti-spyware. Because of this I do not recommend using PC Security Shield. Uninstall it. You need a powerful legitimate antivirus like Kaspersky Anti-Virus or NOD32. I'm sure that these products would remove the threat from your system.
As for the manual removal, please follow these steps:
1. Use HijackThis to fix these entries:
O4 - Startup: csrss.lnk = ?
O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'farlsp.dll' missing
O18 - Protocol: msnim - {828030A1-22C1-4009-854F-8E305202313F} - "C:\PROGRA~1\MSNMES~1\msgrapp.dll" (file missing)
O23 - Service: MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ\Binn\sqlservr.exe" -sMICROSOFTSMLBIZ (file missing)

2. Now launch the Command Prompt and execute the sfc /scannow command. This should replace the infected csrss.file with the original.
3. After you get done please rescan your system with HijackThis and post a fresh log here. |
