Hi everyone,
I have just wiped my computer and NO malicious software is on here (I think?). As I was browsing the internet (www.google.com -> www.datpiff.com -> searched on google avg free (ON DATPIFF NOT WHEN I SEARCHED AVG WHEN COMPUTER SHUT OFF)) when all of a sudden, my computer restarted for no apparent reason. I was checking my processes when it shut off and rebooted AGAIN. I was forced to start it in safe mode and revert to yesterday's settings. Then, rebooted the computer and this message pops up:

Windows has detected spyware infection!
It is ->recomended<- to use special antispyware tools to ->pervent<- data loss.(no space)Windows will now download and intall the most up-to-date antispyware for you.

This appeared in the bottom right corner in a bubble with an icon of a 'x' with a red circle around it. I have pointed out the 3 typos in the message, so it wasn't legit. I also noted that the first time I saw this message, my internet had not yet connected and no antivirus programhad been installed. Then, a random window popped up randomly scanning files. I then exited out of that and ended a couple of processes. (sorry these processes are unknown except AntivirusPro_2010.exe) Then a random icon appeared on my desktop (AntivirusPro_2010). I then ran AVG Anti-Virus Free and set it up. I ran a scan and this showed up: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\096BO1lR\qwxhuhvvjw[1].htm - Trojan Horse Rootkit-Pakes.P

My Scan is still running...

AVG has not found the core files of this infection. I had to. The files are braviax.exe, wisdstr.exe, and AntivirusPro_2010.exe. The registry files I also found. I'm having trouble though. Braviax.exe seemingly doesn't want to be deleted, and my computer won't run in safe mode (The core file names come up (ex: C:\WINDOWS\system32\svhost.dll) then nothing happens). The stupid thing in the corner keeps popping up too. I actually think that this program is not connecting to the internet, so AVG doesn't recognize it.
The program has also modified many things, like trying to execute a system restore with it's own files when I try to delete it's core files and creating a fake Windows security page. Everytime I delete everything it somehow starts up again when I turn my computer off then back on.

PLEASE HELP!

Im having similar problems. First I let AVG search the comp when i first got the error messages. Since i noticed there was something wrong with the way antiviruspro "forced itself upon me". Always popping up and finding "alla errors" on my comp within seconds. It didn't seem to do anything about the problem so i searched the internet for forums to find answers. Got a tip about Spyware doctor or what its called and ran that. At first i thought it had removed antiviruspro, but the next day my AVG couldn't update. So i ran the doctor thing again, downloaded the Malwarebytes and ran that. I then tried the anti-rootkit program in AVG but everytime I try my comp crashes and i get a bluescreen saying its dumping physical memory and a bundch of stuff. So an educated guess led me to believe antiviruspro still exists on my computer. What to do?

I doubt that computer crashes are caused by Antivirus Pro. Maybe AVG causes those crashes? Of course, there might be some sort of malware doing this, for example a Trojan virus. You should uninstall AVG, then download and install ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 (free to use for 30 days) and scan your PC. NOD32 is a very powerful anti-virus application. If it won't crash your PC and won't find any viruses that means your computer is clean and those crashes are likely caused by AVG.
