I am having a couple of problems that just started the last couple of days.
I use Microsoft anti-spyware beta 1 as my spyware scanner.
It doesn't seem to detect this problem.
Raze spyware adds pop up and closes down internet explorer. It also puts links on webpages were words like spy ware or download are. Can anyone suggest a way to get rid of this software.
I also have a second problem. I am not sure if it is related but I have a background that has locked itself in to my computer. It is blue with a black box that says"spyware infections" then it has some other info. I have tried some of the suggestion in the other topics to get rid of other background problems but non of them have worked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have added some new software to try and help. I added McAfee Security center and virus scan. They got rid of the back groud message but not the blue back ground or the pop up and links for raze.

Please follow these steps in order to get rid of the parasites your system is infected with:

1. Download the KillBox utility.

2. Navigate to Start > Settings > Control Panel and launch the Add or remove programs tool. Within the list of installed software find WinHound and click Uninstall or Change/Remove. Wait until the program will be removed from your system.
If there is no WinHound entry, open the C:\Program Files\WinHound folder and run the uninstall.exe tool. It is a standard uninstaller.

3. Now delete the entire C:\Program Files\WinHound folder (if it still exists).

4. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:

I had a couple of problems with your instructions.
C:\Program Files\WinHound doesn't appear to exist
I also couldn't find
C:\WINNT\system32\blank.htm
or
c:\WINDOWS\System32\winapi32.dll
I did everything else you said and I don't seem to have the raze spyware problems anylonger.
The only thing that seems to be wrong now is I still have a blue screen locked in on my background.
Do you have any ideas.

I seem to have fixed the problem myself using instrutions from a different thread.
To unlock your desktop please do the following:
1. Click the Start button. Then launch the Run... tool.
2. Within the appeared window type regedit and press enter. This will open the Registry Editor.
3. Now locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop key and delete all its subkeys.
4. Reboot your computer.
I did one thing diffent. I went to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\system
and I deleted a file called Wallpaper

Your last log is clean. Instructions you have used really work, but not for all RazeSpyware-related parasites. I'm glad you got rid of all the threats your system was infected with. Good luck!
