spyware stike 2.5 -- please help

i'm not sure if this posted last time, so i'm trying it again.

i'm infected with spyware strike 2.5 and i think it must be a variation because the registry keys that are posted at http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-spywarestrike.html and i couldn't find some of the files it mentioned (in safe mode etc). i ran spyware doctor and it did its thing but the icon still shows up in the system tray and the programs there again when i reboot (on the start menu, on the desktop and so). here is my hijackthis log, i would really appreciate an analysis, is there anything that i should be careful about before this thing is cleaned up (ie emailing, using online banking etc)

It looks like your system is infected with uncommon variant of SpywareStrike. Please follow these steps to get rid of it:

1. Download the smitRem tool and upack its files into a chosen directory.

2. Restart your system into Safe Mode. This step is very important! Please note that you need to have the administrator's account.

3. Run the smitRem tool (execute the RunThis.bat file).

4. Find and delete any of the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\netwrap.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wiatwain.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\replmap.dll

It seems to have gone. The icon is no longer in the system tray. Thanks.

I couldn't uninstall it either from the Windows add/remove programs function or with the uninst.exe file. Nothing would happen when i used those. It was only when i ran smitrem in safe mode that the uninstall dialogue box opened.

Also, i couldn't find the .dll files you mentioned, either with the DOS command prompt or with the Windows search. As far as i could tell there wasn't any noteworthy .dll that had been modified within the last week on the whole system (using Windows' searcher) or in the System32 folder (using cmd.exe)

Anyway, thanks again. This site is amazing and you guys are doing an incredible job!

I'm glad you got rid of the SpywareStrike parasite.

However, I just saw one suspicious entry in your latest HijackThis log. Here it is:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AnyDVD] C:\Documents and Settings\Davey\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\download\Clone DVD2 + Any DVD+ crack+serial\Elby Clone Dvd V1.3.10.1 Anydvd 2.0.0.4 Ger Key\Anydvd V2.0.0.4\AnyDVD.exe

It runs the AnyDVD.exe process on every Windows startup. Such behavior is very suspicious. In my opinion, it can be some kind of a parasite. I suggest deleting the entire C:\Documents and Settings\Davey\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\download\Clone DVD2 + Any DVD+ crack+serial directory and fixing the above entry. Next time, please do not use illegal software.
