i have the "run this" anti smitfraud program, as well as several other spyware programs not to mention killbox and i have wasted the last 2 days in safe mode trying my hardest to get rid of this. The system tray "virus alert" icon just wont go away and spyfalcon just continues to reinstall itself.

Please follow these steps:
1. Download the smitRem tool and upack its files into a chosen folder.
2. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:
O4 - Global Startup: 2Wire Wireless Client Manager.lnk = ?
O20 - Winlogon Notify: WRNotifier - WRLogonNTF.dll (file missing)
3. Now restart your system in Safe Mode.
4. Run smitRem by executing its RunThis.bat.
5. Use KillBox to delete the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dxmpp.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dfrgsrv.exe
6. Delete the entire C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\1024 directory (if it is present in your system). |

after trying your method in safemode and running spyware doctor and runthis.bat as well as using killbox, the files you listed to destroy in killbox did not register, they didint exist. The fake virus alert is still there. here is my latest log, spyfalcon continues to reinstall itself. My cousin accidently downloaded one of those video codecs very recently while trying to look at a music video. I think this version might be very very recent, as spyfalcon continues to reinstall itself onto my computer even after using the mehods suggested. The fake virus alert is still there along with spyfalcon re-appearing on my desktop etc. i have found that spyware doctor has done more to remove spyfalcon than smitrem, and i think that has to do with whatever updated version of spyfalcon i have, im not getting killed with popups even though the program continues to reinstall itself, i feel as if it is within the dying stages of the program, if i could just get rid of the source of the "virus alert" thing, i know i can beat this thing without reformatting.

Hi, nitesystem. Sorry for the delay  .
A new variant of SpyFalcon has appeared recently. It uses different files, that is why current anti-spyware programs as well as most antiviruses cannot detect and eliminate the infection. It took some time to research a new variant and update manual removal instructions.
Please try this:
1. Restart your system in Safe Mode.
2. Then use KillBox to delete the following file:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ginuerep.dll
See if this helps. Also make sure there are no other SpyFalcon files in your system. Check updated SpyFalcon manual removal instructions. |
