I'm infected with Trojan.Zlob but none of my cleanup programs can get rid of it. Symantec doesn't have it on their list. Can anyone help? THX!!!

Hi, steveky.

Please follow these steps:

1. Download the smitRem tool and unpack its files to a chosen folder.

2. Download either Pocket KillBox or KillBox utility.

3. Open the Control Panel and launch the Add or Remove Programs tool. In the list of installed software find the Spyware Quake entry and uninstall this application. If there is no such entry in the list, open the folder C:\Program Files\SpywareQuake and run the uninst.exe file - it's the uninstaller.

4. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = \blank.htm
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = \blank.htm
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Nomua] C:\Program Files\Cyrkv\Mssqzo.exe

5. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!

6. Once in Safe Mode, run the smitRem tool by executing the RunThis.bat file.

7. Then use Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following files (if exist):
C:\Program Files\Cyrkv\Mssqzo.exe
C:\WINNT\System32\dfrgsrv.exe
C:\WINNT\System32\stickrep.dll
C:\WINNT\System32\suprox.dll
C:\WINNT\System32\xenadot.exe

Also delete the following directory:
C:\Program Files\Cyrkv

8. After you get done, restart your computer, run new HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here.

I got a Could Not Delete This File msg for the file dfrgsrv.exe. I don't have the files STICKREP.DLL, SUPROX.DLL and XENADOT.EXE

Hi, steveky.

Please follow these steps:

1. Try deleting the dfrgsrv.exe file again. Restart your system in Safe Mode. This time, login as the Administrator.

2. Once in Safe Mode, use Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following file:
C:\WINNT\System32\dfrgsrv.exe

3. Then restart your computer and download the trial version of ewido anti-malware. Install it, update its malware definitions and run a complete system scan. Remove all the infections the program will find.
